Bruce has taken at least a couple bites out of the fish, but when she turns up with the tree his eyes light up. He has no idea where she got it from, or how, but a quick look tells him they're edible.

He stands, a bit more stable on his legs as he comes to the water's edge to join her, his shivering having slowed, which may or may not be a good thing right now.

He takes the whole branch, plucking the two apples from it and gives them a look over before biting into one hungrily. It tastes like the best apple he's ever had, even if it's a bit tart. He sits with a smile next to her, and holds out the other one. He had no idea if mermaids can eat apples, but she got them, so perhaps she ate them too.
