The pained bellow from the creature is deafening, and it dives straight back to the depths to extinguish the flames in its maw. It zips right by Betty, and suddenly registering that there is something, someone, in the water with it, it turns straight at her and emits a low roar under the water that sends ripples all the way up to the surface as the storm rages on.

SMASH! The creature looks a beat away from attacking when it stops and looks straight at Betty. It's glowing green eyes search her, flickering with a sudden uncertainty and seeming recognition.
