There's a brief moment where some think it's a shark, the others a hidden shoal that their boat is about to crash upon. Instead, the form lifts itself right out of the sea, mouth open wide as it roars a fanged challenge right at the men, lightning illuminating it for all to witness. Even though the flashing light from the storm makes it seem to stand still, the monstrous head hasn't stopped charging for the boat. There's a shout as the men barely dive out of the way before the head slams right into the deck, creating a massive hole there. It doesn't even need to recover either as it slips off the deck before they can do more than throw bits of gear at it, but the brief retreat gives them time to grab hooks and knives as the monster turns around for another go.
