labcoatgirl: (scared over the shoulder)

It's a dog's life

Betty isn't sure what happened. She can't remember what happened prior to this.

Everything feels wrong. Like her body is in the wrong position. But when she goes to stand up, she's still too short. There's too many smells in her nose, Betty giving her head a shake. When she does that, she can feel her soft ears moving on her head.

It's not till she does a complete circle that she realizes the situation.

She's a dog.

How could this happen?? she wants to say out loud. Instead, it comes out as a whine and a yip, something that surprises her. It's wet and damp where she is, Betty trying to walk on all fours to the end of the alley. It's pouring rain out there, her coat is already matted and soaked. She sits under an awning, trying to wait till it stops. Racking her poor dog brain to figure out a way out of this.

She nudges at his flanks. Here, lay down and drink, you'll be closer to the bowl. She's trying to be helpful.

It was nice to be inside for a change. It was warm and dry. Betty wanders over to the couch and sniffs along the cushions. Balking at getting up on it because they were supposed to not make a mess.

Oh, right. He laughs inwardly at himself, the sound coming out like a muffled grunt as he gets onto his belly and laps up the water. That pizza was great but oh man, good old H2O. He looks up, water dribbling from his muzzle as he licks his chops. You didn't drool in this, did you?

He's happy enough to be inside that he's trying to be funny now.

She looks like she's smiling. I didn't drool in it. I'm a lady.

Finally, Betty compromises by pulling a blanket off the couch onto the floor, bringing it over to the kitchen floor to lay down on. It was big enough they could both manage.

Funny, tastes like Betty-drool. Not that Bruce was one to mind. Considering he's kissed her, but that doesn't mean he isn't going to pick on her a little.

When she pulls over the blanket, he stands up, going over to help. She's the one with the injured paw, and so he pulls on an opposite corner so it sits flat on the ground.

She pretends to give him a nip for that, not one to hurt. Very funny. You turn into a dog and now you're a comedian? Betty liked seeing him loosen up though, despite the strange circumstances.

She flops down on the blanket, a small whine as her paw twinges and she stretches the leg out so she can lick it again.
