She knows he's probably saying that just to make her feel better. But she lets him for now. She's glad he's not pulling into himself just yet, she always feels so helpless when he keeps everyone, including her, at arms length.
"...I could sit up with you for a bit?" He's probably not going to be able to sleep for awhile after that. She'll just be looking over at him, worrying anyway.
